ELT MANAGEMENT

ELT Management

ELT management in the Middle East

Introduction

Teaching methods can be advised from two approaches--the life method approach and the spectrum approach. The first is a somewhat static approach scrounged from management study and organizational development (Bayne, 2000). It recognises teaching methods founded on Maslow's (1970) hierarchy of human needs. Teaching methods are glimpsed as the interpersonal methods of demeanour with other ones that augment out of people's desires and are the means of settling individual concerns. By acclimatizing Lafferty's (1975) management methods to teaching, one can recount seven teaching styles: accomplishment, self-actualized, humanistic-helpful, acceptance, oppositional power, and competence.
