My test result showed an average EQ level i.e. between 44 and 54, the results suggested that I have an EQ level of just above the average level of a person, and have the potential to improve upon.

Emotional Intelligence, discusses the skill of a person to distinguish, appraise, and handle the emotions of him in a situation.  A man's EQ level is the assessment of a man's measures Emotional Intelligence.  (Horn 1989)

Emotions have the ability to come in between the path of our most crucial business and personal associations. John Kotter of Harvard Business School describes EQ as , owing of the livid velocity of transformation in business in the recent times, it has become increasingly hard to manage associations, that is damaging more business than anything else today, it is not a issue of approach that gets us into problem; it is an issue of controlling our emotions. (Galton 1983)

Emotional intelligence may look a novel concept to few people, a novel tendency in the field of psychological and sociological research. Well, people know the importance of knowing specifics and knowledge. However, very often, we undervalue the worth of expressing ourselves in a positive way. This is where the concept of emotional intelligence comes into play. (Elliott 1990)

Emotional intelligence begins with the knowledge that how should we recognize an emotion in ourselves and in others. Just like all other living things, emotions have names. Therefore, it is nice to be known about the different names of feelings. However, from time to time, the issue with recognizing the emotions does depend on giving them a simple name, but somewhat on the truth that it is sometimes very difficult to discover our inner selves carefully and precisely.
