Introduction

There are two basic directions in ethics, ethics of the mind that justifies an action by reference to intention and ethics of the consequence that justifies an action by reference to results; also known as deontological and teleological ethical theories, respectively. For example, telling the truth considered by many, to be "the right thing to do" regardless of consequences and is an example of deontological ethics (Duska, 2011). Kant's categorical imperative represents a moral obligation stemming from the duty to "do well" and, as such, is also an expression of deontological ethics. Kant noted that people may perform virtuous deeds for unprincipled reasons, and, under deontological ethics, the deeds would have no moral worth (ibid). On the other hand, teleological ethics expressed as utilitarianism that supports material benefit (e.g. money, pleasure, food, survival) as a befitting end.

Discussion

Addressing, the ethical dimension in the study and establishment of accounting standards involves clarifying some issues for discussion within the professional community. If we consider that the progress of scientific research biased by interests external to research, it is evident that, in the case of accounting standards, you will receive pressure to adopt rules that protect particular interests. On the other hand, to exercise the proper role, the counter interacts not only with laymen who rely on their knowledge but also with their peers.

Since, the accounting rules have economic effects, when it comes to respect and recognition is no longer limited to consideration for those directly involved in their decisions, but the entire society. Every profession has a social purpose, the public accountant; bearer of the modern ethos, to exercise that role has the body of knowledge that he contributed his training and the exercise of their profession.
