Introduction

Moral and ethical values possess an important position in our lives. However, the definition of ethics might be different for everyone. The situations that a person might face give him or her ability to deal the qualities of courage and empathy. This is an exploratory paper that aims s at identifying the ethical, moral or developmental dilemmas presented by the two writers and provides evidences of the exploration by highlight the facts from their piece of work.

The Ways We Lie.

Lie at present has become an essential element in our lives. We lie; we all do tell lie despite the fact that we know the bitter consequences of our lie will take into account many individuals. Whether my habit of telling lie hurts someone or it does not? Am I the only person who tell lie? Do others have to pay the consequences of my lie? All these questions keep on triggering the minds requiring an appropriate answer and action.

However, the other side of the picture reveals that it is not possible to speak the truth always because sometimes the context does not permit it. It became difficult to escape from the voices inside that keep on reminding that to hide one lie; a person has to speak 100 lies. The analysis of our behavior and actions is necessary because all the terms such as deception, lies carry meaning within themselves. The lie is not only of one kind. “A white lie is one that causes more danger as compared to a simple untruth.” The disguises are put by all of us to some intensity. Sometimes they are for the purpose of making oneself representative, but sometimes it seduce others in making impressions. In considering a situation, we even sometimes ignore the basic facts, and if the person has some sense of authority than he or she can easily get rid of the embarrassing situation. Telling lie can bring a person into trouble stage. Deliberately we do make attempts in making people realize that whatever is presented to them is reality and truth. It is characteristic of a convincing liar that he can preserve his untruth by repelling attention from it.
