Introduction

The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of our knowledge by exploring some relevant facts and figures relating to our topic “Extracting Knowledge”. From the point of view of organizations, knowledge can be defined as information that allows the generation of associated actions to meet market demands, and support new opportunities through the exploitation of core competencies of the organization (Prusak, 2004). Knowledge is a combination of values, contextual information and experiences that provide a framework for evaluating and incorporating new experiences and information.
