Introduction

Fire has always been a matter of issue in any building or area of human activity, where there is a danger to human lives or assets, some fire safety procedures and technologies are implemented so that if there is any fire detected, some safety precautions could be followed and some safety measures could be implemented so that there is no human life lost in the chaos of fire. There have been numerous of researches done so far on fire protection, like, fire alarms to detect smoke or fire, fire sprinklers etc. Different methods and technological advancements have been done to get of fire beforehand. Our topic of discussion is to protect the building steel and other materials and how to get the structure of the building protected from different type of fires like, cellulosic, hydrocarbon, jet fire or rapid rise fire. Some intumescent coatings are used in Passive fire protection (PFP) systems. The advantages of application of PFP are many, and it greatly reduces the complexity of the material. We will be discussing the advantages in the description of this research paper.

PFP is an install and forget solution, for minimal operational maintenance in the building and in the complete throughout lifecycle of the structure, it doesn't need maintenance. Whereas in active fire protection system, which are fire alarms, fire sprinklers, etc needs maintenance through the life time and are not durable. PFP enables the structural strength safeguard of steelwork; protect personnel, the integrity of division and protection of equipment in the duration of fire or during escape.

Statement of Research Problem

The statement of research problem can be to protect the building material and life using passive fire protection technology and techniques so that human assets could be protected from the fire.
