Courtesy is a useful virtue and allows individuals to develop a better understanding among each other. A courteous nature can be beneficial to all professions; primarily the profession of healthcare. People tend to feel secure and comfortable when dealing with a courteous staff. If we analyse the different perceptions, the Journal article discussed in the paper, evaluates the importance of managing a diverse group of people.

According to the survey data of the employee and patients collected from the concerned manifestation on 142 healthcare Centres in the United Kingdom suggested that the ethnic diversity associated with intra-organizational management leads to a decrease in courtesy towards the patients. Though, the extent to which the managerial demography was optimistically associated to the consideration practiced by the patients and eventually improved the performance of the organization (Simons, Pelled, &Smith, 1999, pp. 662). These inferences emphasized on the observable effects of the community and entailed that the biases within the discourteous group had a direct influence on the performance of the organization (UNSD, 2009, pp. n.d.).

The article address a vital research question in the study conducted by King, Dawson, West, Gilrane, Peddie, & Bastin (2011). The hypothesized question was “Why organizational and community diversity matter?” Similarly, the other questions discussed in the study were when and through what ways diversity can assist optimistic outcomes? Or the complex factors of the rationale for interpersonal mistreatments in an organization? What are the effects of the intra-organizational diversity based on the ethnic demography on the discourtesy in service interactions? The study aimed to study the managerial costs of the intra organizational diversity and to what extent does the organizational demography symbolizes the demography of the stakeholders that are served directly? What are the experimental results of the organizational discourtesy? What is the mechanism which influences presentation?

First of all, the dynamics of the emergence of ethnically varied individuals is derived from the social identity theory (Richard, Barnett, Dwyer & Chadwick, 2004, pp. 255). The theoretical framework of the article comprises of the literature which was reviewed from diverse sources in order to establish a good grasp of the research. It was done so that a better hypothesis could be developed and the reliability of the research could be increased.

Later in the article, Blau's theory of ethnic parameters was discussed which discusses the nominal parameters which differentiate or divide people in the subgroups with definite boundaries. The argument then moves towards the complementary processes. The first one describes the sort of the link among the people and its effects on ethnic groups. The second process represented the association of individuals with different ethnic backgrounds in any organization specifically with respect to the demographics of the community.
