Introduction

'Genetic engineered food is essential these days as it can solve environmental issues, but it also have some consequences'. Genetic engineering is using the artificial means for transforming of the genetic code. When genes of living beings transplanted in another living being, it result is a combination of both. One basic example of genetic engineering is the modified cabbage. Genes from scorpion tail taken, and added in cabbage. These genetically modified cabbages grow with the scorpion poison, which helps in killing caterpillars (Africa Group, 2003). Genetic engineering has solved the major issue of food as it has created a chicken with four legs and no wings. Genetic engineering has given the power of changing the basis of life on earth. It can create crops without fertilizers.

Genetic engineering is undoubtedly increasing. Biotechnology has given a new way of increasing the variety of the food that consumed. The idea of combining the pollens of plants in order to produce a new crop is simply brilliant. It has helped in reducing the global hunger. Golden rice, apples, chicken with four legs and no wings, goat producing the sticky liquid of spiders, etc. are few examples of genetic engineering. This shows how creative the science is in producing new inventions.

Discussion

In the past, ten years, the world has seen many changes. The most incredible change or invention in these past ten years is genetic engineering. This has solved many problems faced by different people of different locality throughout the world (Africa Group, 2003). Genetic engineering is the invention which wills certainly going to stay for forever. It has the capability of solving many contemporary environmental issues.

Considering one of the most important environmental issue, that is, the growing population of the world, genetic engineering is the possible solution to it. As the population is increasing, there is the increase of demand of food. More food and its types can only be produced if there is some DNA element added to it. Genetic engineered food is the best possible solution to this issue (Barton, 2001).

Now, one will think how genetic engineering is the solution to global hunger, or how it can help in decreasing the global hunger. The answer to this question is very simple. What scientists have done is that, they have used DNAs of different plants and fruits to produce more crop and fruits. Scientists also increase the size of the fruits through this genetic engineering. This increased size of the fruits helps in the amount of consumption. As the size, of fruit is huge, so it helps in reducing the hunger more. If this size remains small, an individual will need more amount of it to reduce the hunger, but if the size is huge, will need less to remove their hunger.

It is the controversial statement that genetic engineered food might be the solution to global hunger. On the one hand, supporters of ...
