The rise of Japan in the context of its historical development, has successfully imported social and technological ideas from abroad to achieve significant and distinctive advancement. If we trace the roots of modern Japan back as far as the sixth century, the Japan had in last 120 years extensive contacts with the West. The swift rise of Japan to the status of a global super power, following the Meiji Revolution after 1867, paved the way for following the footprints of Western countries technology and making of Japan as a modern Western-style nation state, the country rose from the devastation of the Second World War to Japan's present position. The specific social structure: The specific social structure, which is dualistic in nature and corresponds to the division between major, medium and minor enterprises, helped a great deal in improving the economy of the country

Strength of the Japanese Nationalism: The Japanese have survived as a great nation, they discouraged liberalism and individualism, never demonstrated selfish attitude and displayed the strength of the Japanese nationalism. Timely Decisions: The timely decision made by the Japan's new political leadership after the Meiji Restoration, systematically studied various economic models and faced the problem of Western imperialism by building both a strong economy and a strong military. This contributed a great deal in building the economy of the Japan.

The system of global regulation with reference to WTO is not fair to all parties. Although the GATT progressively acquired many of the attributes of an international organization, it was increasingly felt in the 1980s that it was not keeping up with the rapid changes in the global economy, and required strengthened dispute-settlement and transparency mechanisms. An important motivation to establish an MTO was to have a single institutional framework encompassing the modified GATT, its sister bodies on services (GATS) and intellectual property (TRIPs), and all other agreements and arrangements concluded under the auspices of the Uruguay round. The United States initially opposed the idea, but, after further negotiations on the substance of the new organization, agreed to the framework that currently exists, including the name change. Although the US Congress remained suspicious of any limitations to its sovereign powers in trade policy, during the ratification debate it became clear that the establishment of the WTO as global regulation would not do much to change the status quo as far as the infringement of sovereignty was concerned.
