Abstract

The United States Army has started going green movement. This has affected the United States Army a lot in a positive manner. It has helped them in learning that how to move in a cost effective way. This research is qualitative and secondary research. Secondary research is the one which is already done, and a new research is made after analyzing the previous researches. Hence the data will be collected from internet, different journals, articles, books and through focus groups. A number of libraries were visited for gathering valuable data from textbooks & journals. The Internet was also a major tool in obtaining relevant information, leading to search for a no. of articles in journals & newspapers from database. To prove the hypothesis, a research was conducted with the help of a three-step process which involved construction of an item pool, validation of the items, & pilot testing of the items. These are the most appropriate source of collecting data, as the target audience or target market is United States army. How going green campaign has affected the United States army, is the biggest question these days, and it needs to be answered in order to see its positive or negative impact. This impact will be analyzed at the end of this research. Focus group was also conducted, which helped in analyzing what exactly army is doing for going green. It was conducted by the current army officers. Go Green teaches drivers to reduce their carbon footprint, significantly reduce their fuel consumption and increase safety behind the wheel of their own vehicle - no matter what they drive. Go green is fun and effective way for people to learn how to drive better, safer and greener. The armed soldiers also told that the vision of the army of net zero means the net zero energy, also all those programs that want to aim net zero energy, waste and water. For United States, the cost of defense is the most massive cause for all national debts. Because of go green campaign, these debts can be reduced. Go green has ensured the reduction in expenditures, and it has also reduced the carbon footprint.

Introduction

United States Army Corps of Engineers have planned out a go green campaign. Local regulations, and federal, state have limited the usage, storage and disposal of hydrocarbon-based cleaning solvent, which have led to the uncontrolled replacement of solvents with environmentally friendly products. The U.S. Army and other defense organizations depend on these solvents to maintain unique, mission critical systems and materiel and the replacement of hydrocarbon solvents has resulted in use, approval and compatibility issues.
