Introduction

This term paper feels upon a few of the significant achievements made by those who dwelled, during the beginning of western culture, in very old Greece and Rome. Some of these influences are rather exceptional and applicable to our present humanity and heritage here in the west. I would like to issue to the most important Greek ideal leveraging our world today: democracy. An ideal that, I might add, which appears to be ever increasingly shoved apart by the elite couple of who are commanding the world through corporate investment and regime sponsorship.

Discussion

Grecian and Roman leverage on the west as we know it is very deep and has endured longer than any other former culture. The West is obliged the refinement of drama, publications, poetry, satire, historic narrative, beliefs, technical investigation, civil and judicial regulation to the early Greeks and Romans. Some of the more enlightened rulers of Greece, like Solon (638-558 B.C.E. sheets: 78-79) , helped to direct a previously oligarchic government in the direction of an enterprise in which the average citizens could actively take part. The Athenian statesman and legislator Solon eradicated liability slavery and encouraged the smaller class to assist in public office. This example helps to demonstrate Greek consideration of the quality of human life and the revolutionary measures they achieved to enhance that quality(Arm?trong, 2004).

Pericles' speech assisted show that capitalism or benefiting from hard work was predictable and that war, whereas important when necessary, were not first and foremost on the brain of this foremost.
