Groupware

The word groupware consists of two elements, group and ware. Group is a socio- organisational element, which means “a collective way of working, collaboration, the intimacy of staying together and sharing”. Ware is a technical element, meaning artefact or tool. The word Groupware compounds these two elements.

Groupware is an extensive term, with a number of disciplines and fields that could be called its ancestors.
