1.As you explored some of the links given in this case, did anything catch your eye? What looked good and what looked bad? Why did it look good or why did it look bad? If you want to browse through some more examples, visit the Hall of Malls.

Ans. Reference to the scenario it was all due to the change in technology and about embracing new technology. Competition, consumer changes and growing technology are converging to make micromarketing's historical attractiveness both achievable and profitable. It is a result of the flattening of the competitive landscape in the USA and is becoming a major retailer focus. Broadly interpreted, micromarketing means getting the right product in the right stores at the right time. “Retailers are finally getting the message that all customers are not equal. Retailers are learning that they can fuel tremendous sales growth in frequent-shopper programs by leveraging those inequalities with customer-specific marketing.

Until just a few years ago retail firms were so strongly driven by distribution and operations efficiencies that chains had the same stock mix in Miami's year-round warm climate as they did in Minneapolis' cold one - winter coats and snow shovels in the autumn and swimming suits not until spring. Today even some of the best US retailers classify their regions or stores only by climate. Can a web site similarly create a similar ambiance for its visitors? If so, how? If not, why not?

Ans. Technology is just now beginning to have a serious impact on productivity growth. For example, a few years ago a six or eight month period was typical between retail order placement and delivery for new fashions. Consider the concept of what US consumers have come to expect from retailers. They expect to “get their money's worth”. Shoppers pay more than a financial price for their store purchases. This larger price includes money, time, opportunity cost, and such psycho-social costs as stress, anxiety, ...
