Task 1

The health and safety errands of all parties on a construction project are specific in the current Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects. Responsibilities are agreed in meticulous for constructor, employer, supervisor, and worker (Kalina, 63). Each party has exact responsibilities to complete on a construction project. Appoint a supervisor if 5 or more workers are on the project at the same time. Ensure that the project is supervised at all times.

A project that lasts more than 3 months and has 20 or more workers must have a Joint Health and Safety Committee. If a Joint Health and Safety Committee is not required and there are more than 5 workers, the workers must select a Health and Safety Representative. Complete a Ministry of Labour (MOL) registration form. Keep a copy of all employer-approved registration forms on site while employers are on the project. Send a notification of task to the MOL. Develop written emergency procedures, make sure your employees know what they are, and post them on site. Ensure ready access to a telephone, two-way radio, or other system in the event of an emergency. Report a fatality, critical injury, or other prescribed incident such as a critical injury to the MOL, ensure all workers on site are at least 16 years of age.

The guidelines do not apply to household services in a personal household neither do request to masters and crews of seagoing ships. Seagoing undertakings are enclosed by the Merchant boats and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) guidelines 1997. although, the Regulations may request when a boat is in a dock in large Britain and shoreside employees and the ship's crew work together. Employers and self-employed persons must convey out a risk assessment, covering both employees and others who may be influenced by their work or business.

The evaluation should address the effect of their undertaking, work activities and the status of the premises. Employers who employ five or more employees should record the significant outcome of the risk assessment. The guidelines state that the evaluation should be “suitable and sufficient”, but do not characterise what this means. The ACoP states that this means that it should identify the dangers due to, or in connection with, the work. The evaluation should be proportionate to the risk. For demonstration for small enterprises with a few or simple hazards, no perplexing methods or skills will be needed. although, for large and dicey sites, the assessment will need to be methodical and thus may become complex. Employers and the self-employed are anticipated to take rational steps to identify risks. evaluations should be appropriate to the environment of the work and should state the time for which it is they stay legitimate i.e. to specifiy an apporpriate reconsider period.
