Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Total Quality Management” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “Total Quality Management in Health Care Company” and its relation with “Variation in Employee Perceptions of Total Quality”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “Total Quality Management” and tries to gauge its effect on “Health Care Financing” in relation to “Variation in Employee Perceptions of Total Quality”. We also discuss the factors responsible for variation in employee perception of total quality. In this research we have employed qualitative secondary research method through which we have reviewed extensive literature regarding people's perceptions about Total Quality in Health Care Financing and Variation in Employee Perception of Total Quality.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Total Quality Management

Total Quality Management (TQM) is the outgrowth of a long line of developments seeking to evaluate and improve the quality of manufactured goods. The idea behind TQM is that much can be achieved by innovation? but competitive advantage is largely affected by continuous process improvement. Universities and colleges have applied TQM to both the administrative aspects of university operations and? to a lesser extent? the academic aspects. Experience with the TQM process on university campuses has found it to be cheap to undertake and somewhat fast to entire while accomplishing significant improvement.

Background

Total Quality Management is a business management methodology that aligns the activities of all employees focusing customer satisfaction to be achieved by continuous improvement in the quality of all activities? processes? goods and services". Total quality management's definition clearly explains that it is a way to run a business and be successful through total continued and maintained quality in all things. (Drucker? 2004 pp. 12-18) The following reconsider of publications is regarding total quality administration in relative to variations in employee insight of total value.

Today's quality movement in health care draws on disparate roots in medicine and industry; and it can be varying from employee to employee and from company to company. Medicine historically has taken a watchdog approach? relying on government licensing? professional credentials? internal audits? and? more recently? external inspections to maintain standards? weed out poor performers? and solve problems. Industry has adopted a different philosophy over the past 50 years: training employees to prevent problems? strengthening companyal systems? and continually improving performance. In the 2004s health care began adopting these approaches as well? and now they are also being applied in family planning and other primary care in developing countries. (Kohn? 2005 pp. 54-63)

Significance of the Study

This significance of this study is that it identifies the variations in the ways that employees perceive and experience TQM implementation on job satisfaction? companyal trust? and teamwork; the effect of variations in the ways that employees perceive and experience TQM implementation efforts on customer service focus and Management Implementation on Intermediate Quality Outcomes in the Health Care Financing Administration in the US.
