CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

The most common form of diseases in the world these days include heart diseases, which pose considerable amount of risk to the patients suffering from it. Heart failure is the most occurring disease in the people aged above 65 years. Many of the survey studies suggest that more than 50% of the people, who are admitted to the hospitals because of heart failure, are admitted again within the period of next 6 months. In many countries, hospitalization is one of the many factors which are responsible for 70% of the total health care costs for heart failure. This research study will discuss the heart failure teaching tools which are perceived to be effective according to the bachelor degreed nurses at a hospital facility at Florida.

Background of the Research

The disease of heart failure is an inveterate composite and the impairment for this illness cannot always be prevented. Though, more than half of the admissible have been declared as preventable, but many of these have been induced due to the failure of the providers of health care to be caused by the failure of health care providers to target and point out the patients prone to the high risks. These are those patients who usually optimal treatment and the nurses are to prepare n effective discharge plan through good education follow ups.

The guidelines which have been provided for the assessment of heart failure have successfully managed to delimit the measures for the management of patient education and inpatient medication. The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Heart Failure has indicated that the the patients who have been admitted into the hospitals need to realize the worth of preventive measures, symptoms, medications, dosing, and the general side effects and other related consequences of the disease. It is the utmost responsibility of the nurses to asses and judges the effectiveness of the teaching tools and reconciles the guidelines for all the patients suffering from the heart diseases. Moreover, they are recommended to prepare a set of extensive and that comprehensive discharge instructions which have been prepared for all the heart patients and the caregivers are strongly recommended.

Problem Statement

The investigative study particularly deals with the problem of evaluating the effectiveness of the heart failure teaching tools. The efficiency of such tools will be assessed through the perception and point of views of bachelor degree nurses. The research will provide a deep insight into the teaching and evaluating methods of the heart failures and will comprehensively test their effectiveness.
