Introduction

Hepatitis C is a contagious disease caused by the HCV (hepatitis C Virus), primarily affecting the liver. The infection is usually without any symptoms, but severe forms can lead to the damaging of the liver, leading to cirrhosis (caused by liver disease). In few cases, this can develop into liver failure or other life threatening complications. The viruses only spread through blood to blood contact, and shows few if any symptoms in the initial contact.
