Using Middle and High Fidelity Simulation in Nursing Education

Introduction

The innovation and technology has surrounded in our environment, it has covered the education sector also. Using of digital gadgets and instruments in classroom has now become common. There are several advantages of using these electronic instruments in the education delivery simultaneously the researchers has recorded some issues and challenges of using these instruments. Recently in nursing education middle-high fidelity simulation has increased dramatically and teachers' students have adopted it. There is increased trend of nursing education in United States. To support the education and deliver quality practical education university and colleges have started using fidelity simulation.

The study investigates the benefits and issues of this technology and how far it will be helping students to accept it. The research has comprehensive findings of effects of simulation in the nursing education. It is important to find the effects and importance of fidelity simulation in the nursing education. There are issues with every technology implemented so, the motivation of study is to highlight the issues. The discussion of the study provides complete knowledge of middle-high simulation. The simulation, as defined by the Center for Medical Simulation (Cambridge, Mass.), is a situation or a scenario created to allow people experience the representation of a real event with the order to practice, learn, evaluate, test or acquire knowledge of systems or human performance. The simulation is meant as a technique, not a technology, may be worn properly, without exaggerating the reality but at the same time without minimizes or ridicule both the inactive element (virtual model) as the element active (student teacher).

Discussion

The technology simulation could be referred to science and art of presenting artificial environment and recreating the scene that could actually happen. It has now become a significant part of nursing teaching and it provides controlled environment to the students to perform their original tasks in artificial settings. Healthcare and nursing education could be more understandable in simulation than theories and books. This practice helps students to become perfect on artificial setting, and then move to live patient. The high fidelity simulation has provided artificial scenario equals to the actual experience in the laboratory. Then there is no need for the actual clinical practice for students. There are three level of fidelity low, medium, and high.

The middle and high fidelity simulation is the advanced technology that provides actual human simulators to the students for their clinical practices. This new technology is called ...
