History of the Mars family enterprise

There are nearly 70 years in the late 1940s, Mars was inspired to expand into Canada. Our beginnings were modest here, but our dream was far from it. Fuelled by a vision of innovation and strong brands, the Canadian dream of Mars has taken shape with significant investments in factories in new market and Bolton in the late 1980s. Rapidly, emerging from a new unit, we have become an engine of business growth and are extremely proud to be a family business in itself. (Thompson, 365)

Why the status of family business is it so important? Because it makes us able to orchestrate ourselves our success and shape our entire future. Because it gives our associates the freedom to excel by being passionate, creative, innovative and bold. In a nutshell, it allows them to take risks. We have always been a decentralized organization with a very small core. We believe it is important to know consumers locally and therefore believe that our associates on the ground are best equipped to make the right decisions so that business needs are met and goals achieved. Thus, our associates across the company have the chance to take responsibility and show leadership.

Mars, Incorporated is among the producers of the largest brand in the world. The family business generates an annual turnover of more than $ 30 billion. (Keat, 125)
