Introduction

Modern development efforts and multinational enterprises business refer to the transfer of technological innovations in the industrially less developed industrially developed and developing countries. Tonnies and Durkheim If distinctions are applicable to societies characterized by the degree of industrial development, then international managers and economic development programs will benefit from consideration of the structural basis of social solidarity work, and exchange these may influence how workers respond to the alternative forms of management and rewards. The question then is whether there are values and work-related motivations that are associated with the level of industrial development of a society. Considerable monitoring has been paid to connecting national cultural standards of the skills of managers, management practices (Hofstede, 1975, 1980, 1991 and Schneider, 1989; Jaeger, 1990, Schneider and DeMeyer, 1991, Peterson et al, 1995) and industrial and business development (Franke, Hofstede and Bond, 1991, Hofstede and Bond, 1988, Shane, 1994, Yeh and Lawrence, 1995). Hofstede's work assessing the standards of equity affiliates in relation to authority, for the avoidance of doubt, individualism-collectivism, masculinity, femininity and guidance has been particularly influential (Hofstede, 1975, 1980, 1991, Hope, 1990). However, the study in this locality has not been integrated with the sociological literature on industrial development and changes in the values of the center. This study applies logistic regression analysis for responses from the UK and Chinese college graduates to test the ability of the cultural dimensions of Hofstede value of distinguishing between managerial workers in two nations with different levels of industrial development. The results have implications for management practices of multinational companies.

Theoretical background and research

The current interest in the meanings of the values of national heritage for the management to perform, and Hofstede's approach in specific, is rooted in two basic themes in recent years science community l9: Functionalism and the development of community.
