The idea of identification of needs and the development of an understanding as to where you are and where you wants o be in the future, is a process that drives the urge for change. The realization of your current standards and planning your future prospects enlightens the establishment of a process to carry out that change. The most important aspect of this process is the exquisite mix of cohesive teamwork and leadership perfection. When we are clear about our happenings, find our directions to make plans, strive to achieve our developed targets and make our decisions efficiently and effectively, we are actually a part of a concept known as holistic management. In this paper we will discuss this concept in detail, its framework processes and its application, keeping in view the environmental influences of a police department.

Introduction

Holistic management is a term indicating and implementing a system thinking process which results in production surplus, financial stability, economic sustainability and improving the quality and standard of life. System thinking, may be referred as a process through which, we can develop an understanding about the environment and those things that have the power to influence our actions or behaviors. The concept of holistic management designs, a decision-making process through which decisions can be made that are economically productive, environmentally feasible and socially acceptable for both long term and short term. The concept developed by Allan Savory when used in an organization can yield monitory compatibility along with the satisfaction of employees, ensuring work commitment, sincerity and devotion. On the other hand, when used for teaching or training and development purposes, holistic management provides a chance to develop structured training sessions keeping in view ordinary implications that have an impact over the actions, behavior and performance of an individual (Savory & Butterfield, 1999).

The concept of holistic management is, more appropriately the analyses and consideration of one own self and environment, it answers the questions like what do I want to do? Where do I see myself? What am I capable of? It is a guide to understand the direction, where an individual wants to go. After the certainty of direction, it provides the establishment and settlement of goals. Holistic management assists organizations, communities, entities and families in making their daily decisions and setting up their goals. Holistic management centers around goal setting, because we need to know where we presently are and where we want to be in the future. When the goals are established, the system defines a process of monitoring and implementing decision making that will help to meet the ultimate goals.
