America is mainly dependent on the secure telecommunications and functioning networks. These networks are considered as a firm support for effective communications as they efficiently work for the maintaining the position of American marketplace in many aspects such as critical infrastructure partners, state and local entities, government, private citizens businesses and law enforcement. These networks are comprised of private and sensitive information, and are targeted by the foreign governments and various other entities in order to commit steal trade secrets, economic espionage, or access to the government information for gaining a strategic benefit over the United States.

It is agreed and proved by counterintelligence experts that currently China is the largest source of cyber threats and the Chinese government is one of the main perpetrators. Chinese are actively involved in committing cyber-crimes. China has now enhanced its technological capabilities in order to cripple civilian and military computer networks. China is producing the biggest cyber threat for the United States, mentioned in a new report sent to Capitol Hill. Chinese military and intelligence agencies combined with cyber warriors have strengthen their abilities to target and attack specific areas such as American reconnaissance systems and military surveillance of U.S. According to a report, these cyber operatives are basically Chinese civilians who are involved in working for the military with hackers holding doing jobs on daily basis in China as information technology specialists.

Are the Chinese skills in computer network operations have enhanced enough to pose legitimate risk to U.S. military operations in the event of a conflict.

Does the U.S. Department of Defense also face severe vulnerabilities in its telecommunications and weapons systems supply chains?
