Patricia Dunne was on the hunt for leaks at HP. As chairman of the board, she has assumed the responsibility for finding a person who has been information leakage. In conducting its investigation, she made some moral decisions that raise questions about her ethics and values. It is considered to be an inspiration for the pretexting allegations that violate the privacy of HP directors and journalists (Kaplan, 2006). Since then, she was forced to resign, and many people have called into question if it should be. To the knowledge of utilitarian and deontological ethics of its actions, the answer becomes obvious. Patricia Dunne should have been forced to resign because she made unethical decisions and violated the moral law, which ultimately resulted in damage to the reputation of HP.

When Dunn was able to protect HP and find information leaks person, she was unsuccessful. Then she became so angry that she was forced to hire a company (Kaplan, 2006). The firm is engaged in pretexting, in which they lied to obtain personal information about directors and journalists. Dann, if you do not know about the tactics the company became known shortly after the look and tried to use evidence found against the defendant (Kaplan, 2006). This is bad as incitement pretexting.
