Abstract

The scientific study of changes over a human beings life span is referred to as human development. It spreads over a human's life right from birth extending over his entire life till his old age. Human development covers a wide range of areas including motor skills and various psycho-physiological aspects. Over the years there have been several theorists who gave different theories related to the various areas of human development with respect to psychology. Three of them will be discussed in this paper with respect to the most important areas of human development.

Introduction

The scientific study of changes over a human beings life span is referred to as human development. It spreads over a human's life right from birth extending over his entire life till his old age. Human development covers a wide range of areas including motor skills and various psycho-physiological aspects. Three major areas of human psychology that need to be analyzed are social, cultural and socio-economic. Developmental psychology refers to the step-by step accumulation of knowledge versus stage-like development (Berk, 2010). For example, it's only with time that a child would learn to walk at a particular age, before that stage in his life he would only crawl and sit. They go through different happenings in their life they build a database of experiences hence avoid making similar mistakes, rather be smart enough to make new mistakes and learn from them.

Theories related to Human Growth and Development

Over the years there have been several theorists who gave different theories related to the various areas of human development with respect to psychology. Three of them will be discussed in this paper with respect to the most important areas of human development.
