With better knowledge, we seek now to repair that damage and leave a better heritage to our children and grandchildren." Except for taking exception to being considered "elderly" (at least,not yet), I do strongly agree with the above quote. Robert Lane,90, helped create the above website called Gray is Green after convincing his Connecticut retirement community to conserve energy. It is an interesting website with a lot of cool links as well as a blog that I believe was recently started. Go check it out.

As talk of global warming escalates and more and more Baby Boomers become "Eco-Activists", older Americans are increasingly taking a stand on the environment and becoming more involved. A recent consumer survey found that people over 55 are more likely than any other age group to conserve energy in their homes. As a generation, we are also organizing online and putting more and more of our energy,time,and financial resources into the goal of saving and slowing the demise of Our planet. We know that our efforts will extend and increase the quality of life for our children and grandchildren.

"Our generation defeated fascism and Japanese imperialism," according to Robert Lane, "But we exploited the earth. So we owe it to our grandchildren to do what we can to repair it." So what are you and I doing personally to help planet Earth ? I would like to think that all of us are now using those nice cloth, re-usable grocery bags and doing our own personal part to get away from those indestructible plastic bags that dot our landscape.
