Case Scenario

A 27 years old mother named Freydia is using crack cocaine for last four years. She have two children of ages 7 and 9 respectively. Due to her crack cocaine addiction Potective Services have taken her children in their custody. Now Freydia comes to the drug programme while saying she wants to get her children back.

Hypothetical Working Agreement

As mentioned by Murphy & Dillon (2003) any working agreement should have four essential parts; assessment, prioritizing, contracting, evaluation. By using these steps a clinician can understand the client problem and his expectations. At the same time the clinician can set a time frame in which he or she will expect the client to overcome the problem and achieve its expectations. Clinician and client will sign a written agreement that will contain everything both agree on, and that will hold both responsible to comply with the agreement. Everything in the working agreement is to benefit and protect the well being of the client.

Assessment

As mentioned by Herman & Knuth (1991) assessment is use by clinicians to better understand the problem that the client may have. To look for the cause of the problem so that any goals to overcome it. When clinicians make an assessment, they are able to find the how the client think about the problem and the expectation of overcoming it. The clinician will be able to analyze the stay of mind, emotional state, and how self aware is the client of the problem itself. At the say time when clinician are conduction and assessment on a client he or she is collecting personal information, evaluation the treatment that they may need and even if they need any special placement.

Prioritizing

According to the Office of Human Resource SC (n.d.) after setting any goal they will need to be prioritize. By doing this there are some considerations that need to be made; need,

urgency, time, impact, and resources available to achieve the goals. When analyzing the need of a goal individuals must know if is something, they have to do, they might do, or simply they will like to do. When looking at the urgency of the goal individuals will be looking speed in which the goal must be done. When individuals are analyzing the time, they will look of how long it will take the goal to be accomplish. When analyzing the impact of the goal on hand individuals are analyzing who and what is will be affected by the goal they just set. When analyzing the resources available individuals will be looking at what, they have to use for accomplish the goal; time, money people and even places that they can get help (Office of Human Resource SC, n.d.).

Contracting
