Identifying two ways

The people in New England were good farmers and fishermen. They were also experts in shipbuilding and trade. The mid-Atlantic colonists were farmers but they also concentrated much on industries. They were able to provide food for their own people and to send to the other colonies; the Middle colonies became known as the breadbasket colonies. The New England trade was known as a triangular trade. The trading ships followed ocean routes that formed a triangle on the world map.
