Immigration bad for America

Introduction

When legal immigrants pass border, 93 percent of them settle in major metropolitan areas, such as, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Houston, San Diego, and Philadelphia. Have you wondered why places like New York and California are so crowded? Well, now you know one reason why, because immigrants choose to settle there. And these immigrants then tax every area of our country's infrastructure (labor, medical, transportation, and other government services, etc). (Kraut 1880)

And because immigrants flock to big cities, welfare burden is huge. Such concentration places an overwhelming burden on them because states pay bulk of money for providing services like AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children), SSI (Supplemental Security Income), medical care, and general assistance. For example, cost in Calif. for these benefits was over 1 billion dollars. (Heidish 66)

- In summary of this point, FAIR research showed that overall " net annual cost of immigration has been estimated at between $67 and $87 billion the year. Let's just average it out! * My second point is Immigrants take away jobs from hard-working US Citizens and jobs they are able to keep experience dramatic drops in pay level

-Residential drywallers in late 70's received on average $1,100 dollars the week and also received health insurance, pension, and vacation benefits. By 1982, contractors began to hire Mexican immigrants. As the result, contractors were able to eliminate health insurance, pension, and vacation benefits and reduce wages dramatically. The drywallers today now receive only about half of what non-immigrant workers earned the decade earlier!

-Immigrants also come into the job with established ethnic networks that enable them to quickly encourage relatives and friends to take advantage of newly available jobs in same companies, thus often shutting out native-born workers who didn't even hear of job openings until it was too late.
