Introduction

Today, the business world is highly competitive, global environment in which has caused companies develop more efficient that only achieve success. Although be in a good business, many organizations are not able to exploit the environment and is common mishandling of information leads them to achieve significant losses in their organization (Maya, 2005). One possible solution to obtain better control of the operations in a company is implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), defined by Deloitte and Touche as a business software system that allows companies automate and integrate the majority of its processes, share common data and practices throughout the company, produce and access information in real time. ERP is a software architecture that facilitates the flow of information between the functions of manufacturing, logistics, finance and human resources of a company. With this article, it is intended that the reader knows the functioning and importance of System Resource Planning known as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The first objective of this research is to define the notion of integration. Then the second objective is to present the ERP as technology integration, finally, research on the impact of the implementation of an ERP on improving the performance of the company as the third objective of this work.

Case study IGL Distribution

The case study is conducted within the company IGL Distribution: a company specializing in the marketing of computers and other items (computer accessories, supplies). This company has two sales offices: one in Sfax and Tunis else.

In fact this company is part of the IGL. This group began in 1987 with one company specializing in software development, almost abandoned this activity when it is specialized in assembling and marketing of computers since 1999.

IGL is a limited company with a capital of 2,165,000 Dollars. In fact, this group is now considered among the leaders in the Tunisian market editing computers. It is composed of three branches:

IGL Distribution: responsible for business (wholesale) and after-sales service to customers.

IGL Industry: responsible for the design and assembly of micro-computers.

IGL Pro: responsible for direct sales.

In 2002, the group IGL has decided to implement the ERP "MBS-Navision Attain version 3.10." Decision implementation of this ERP was taken by senior management with the participation of Heads of belonging to the both IGL and IGL Distribution Industry.

Moreover, it was a project that began with the aim of integrating different IF that already existed and thereby facilitates the flow of information.

Indeed, the group had even before the ERP information systems for operational and statistical treatment in several areas: business, finance, personnel, production, if these treatments have already automated and repetitive tasks. But these applications do not communicate with each other which were opposed to the free flow of information. Hence this research is the integration explaining the replacement of most management software by ERP.
