Task 1 - lntroduction

A Personal Development Plan to upgrade team performance to me is important because it will assist me in planning out a better plan for me to achieve my goals and objectives and in order to improve my skills and gain new skills in my career. It will help me to formulate personal goals and evaluate progress towards their achievement. Planning and managing work is very important process in every kind of business. The college I am attending is all about British agriculture, I work my self in a vegetable farm in Lancashire as operation manager, and staff manager. The planning and management of work contributes to achieving the best results of my work. It is very important, because it helps to get everything to be done in time. (Tom Wilson 2010)

Every work planning starts with writing a work plan. First off all written work-plan shows the activities for a given period of time. After it works as a guiding document for the activities to be carried out during that period of time. It helps to follow works statistics, figures and productivity.

A good planning work will help me to be better organized in my personal life and my career in the future.

Task 2 - Your role in identifying and managing performance

My role in identifying and managing performance is twofold i work as supervisor nearly 5 years. With each passing year the farm offers a greater number of jobs. Due to the good quality of farm production has a good reputation and customers are very satisfied.

The most important element of my work is good staff management. Every day I have to follow cut sheet which i get form pack house. The cut sheet is a list of tasks to be done for the day. It shows the amount and type of the different types of vegetables and the time in which they must be in packhouse. Working at “T. Wilson and sons (farmers) Ltd which happens to be a family business located at Rainford St. Helens and farm approx. 700 acres throughout Merseyside and Lancashire.

T. Wilson & Sons (Farmers) Ltd have been supplying Aldi for over 12 years and currently supply a range of pre-packed salads and vegetables to approximately 200 Aldi stores. The business took the decision to solely supply Aldi a number of years ago and do not supply other retailer. This could be seen as a major weakness of the business relying entirely on one customer but the business feels it can offer 100% service to Aldi without compromising quality or service. Over recent years the business has enjoyed sharing in the success that Aldi have achieved in the UK retail market. vegetables grown on the farm are different depending on the season.
