Introduction

Leadership is important as its broad and diverse issue. Understanding leadership and management is the first essential step in familiarizing an individual's knowledge with its values. However the substantial is how the person tailors his/her own protocol of leading and managing out of the science, and theories of leadership and management. This module is a new opportunity to review the theories of leadership and management and, and also recognize the personality, knowing about reflecting, and networking. It is important not to distinguish such disciplines from the context surrounding a person. This will help to achieve a better practicing of leadership, moving stably toward the goals. In this assay, a three dimensional analysis will be applied in term of discussing about myself, and what are the area of development, working with a team and the importance of networking. First dimension is about the academic background. Second dimension is about my experience during this enjoyable module. Finally, the third dimension is about my experience at my work field, in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). This will make a great clarification while discussing the mentioned subjects.

About Myself

As a person, it is very important to understand and explore yourself. This is not easy as it might seem. Using accredited tools like -MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) which is related to your personality type are essential to start with. Comparing the MBTI results received about me in this course (ENTP) and the ones in 2008 (by ASHRIDGE business school)-(ENFB). Between both results, this meant to me two major hints: MBTI is quite accurate tool and one personality and preferences can be slightly changed! So I can debate the argument that personalities cannot be changed, actually it do, if slightly even. In my opinion expanding the use of personality tools, like MBTI among the organizations could be an effective way to encourage employees understanding each other. Knowing my personality and preferences is not enough. What is more important understands other personalities and preferences. By practice, I have experienced a great deal of flexibility and acceptance in dealing with a various different personalities with my team work during preparing for the formative presentation, which I missed, indeed, most of the time at my work field in Abu Dhabi Municipality. One will not be able to merge with team work properly, unless he is aware about how do they think and act. In this manner, a tool like MBTI will save a lot of effort and time in dealing with others.
