Introduction

This report is about the individual development showing the current skills and knowledge, including assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. Development is to nurture, shape and enhance their knowledge, skills, and my best interest is to make sure the efficiency and flexibility, and to reduce technological obsolescence and laying-off in me and my chance for life. This does not necessarily mean that the upward movement, on the contrary, is about improvement and making personal use at every stage of my career to the fullest of potential (Maxwell, 2007,, 23).

Individual development report for me is an opportunity to understand myself better. In this report, I will address what are the causes of my strengths are and also pay some spotlight on my weaknesses, but also to know how to use the field work; I'll go to my strengths, in the future, how to develop the weaknesses into my strengths (Maxwell, 2007,, 23).

The purpose of this report is to understand the development within an individual in terms of the knowledge and skills. The focus is on the individual's development style, leadership, and the needs of skills required by the management of the organization. This development report will facilitate in the learning of the self-audit or self assessment for certain traits, performance development of individual and the welfare of the organizational team by adopting certain managerial skills. Individual development is a process of self discovery which helps in realizing ones potential, skills and personality. The process of individual development can play an important role in making informed decisions especially in relation to selection of educational field and career development reports. It gives us detailed information and insight into our area of interests so that it is easier to build career in relation to our interest and area of expertise, something that we are naturally good at or capable of doing something better than others. It basically consists of evaluating the three important factors that are value inventories, interest inventories and personality inventories. Value inventories basically consist of things that we value, for example some people give value to job satisfaction in terms of high salary while others give more value to other non monetary rewards or few words of appreciation from manager. Interest inventory consist of hobbies or likes and dislikes. For example reading, golf, running etc. personality inventory consists of attitude and behavioral aspects of personality which may include different types of needs and motivational aspects or other individual characteristics (Mckay, 2012) (Pedler, 2001,, 30).

Discussion

Organizations are currently involved in the dilemma of leadership and management development challenges, which results in lack of management abilities that usually rob those managers that have high-potential of job experience that are critical, some of the short assets for the development of employees, and a workforce who faces rapid aging, which results in decline of talent of experienced managers for the position of leadership (Bassi et al 2008, pp. 9) (Pedler, 2001,, 30).
