Industrialization in the Western United States

During the nineteenth century, there was a condition of the formation of the United States: its beginning to its industrial growth. This condition was in relation to Europe, from which it emerged. However, this young country with the hope to consummate their independence against react, coupled with their need for territorial expansion, largely unknown, and which necessarily had to be conquered, consequently sought a particular character:

• "Entrepreneurship" was characterized by this pioneering company. However, this American society resulted from the different social classes and the inequality of fortunes, a society "antagonized" either by the struggle of social groups that had interests dissidents or opposition itself. The result of this is similar to those known in Europe: feudalism intolerance and secular tradition of mental conflicts.

• Related movements between birth and death resulted in population pressure. Thus, throughout the nineteenth century demographic behavior evidenced by the constant influx of migrants, weighed on continued growth. Besides excessively influenced territorial expansion and the subsequent westward movement in this country.

• The economic and technological leadership of England did match to U.S. industrial development.

Demographic trends

The U.S. demographic process had three key features that characterized it. In terms of population, this country did not exceed four million in the first period but it went doubling every 23 years until just before the Civil War failed to reach 32 million. However, in the last third of the century, the population rate would indicate a relative decline in this growth.

Mortality and birth rate
