Any new business must begin with a solid market strategy and business plan, which will guide you through the rest of the business start-up process of opening your new record store. One of the most important things to remember is to adopt information system network for your business. The following systems are proposed for the Nostalgic music store: transaction processing system, office automation system, management information system, decision support system and supply chain management system

One of the most important thing to remeber is to adopt information system network for your business. The significance of information technology in retail brick and mortar business (in this case the record store) stems from the significance of data in this communication era. Data includes information that helps make decisions in business. One of the greatest tool that a retailer can have is the right data in the right time in the right form (Bridge, 2003).. The follwing advantages can be obtained by integrating information system in your business:

Operational Excellence: Intergrating information technology improves efficiency of the business operations and helps achieve higher profits. For example, Wal-Mart use a RetailLink system. This information system links Wal-mart and its suppliers. This way as the customer purchases an item, the supplier gets the information and thus, knows when to ship a replacement to the shelf (Sauer and Willcocks, 2002).

Imrpoved Decision Making: One of the major problems that managers face is not having the right information at the right time. Information systems reduce this problem and provide managers with the right information at the right time. This helps managers to make better decisions related to the business. Information system made it possible for the managers to use real time data from the marketplace when making decision (Hoffmann, 2003).
