Discuss how the Project Triangle implies a balancing act for effective project management.

Project management requires effective project planning and management that can be achieved through the use of proper management functions and the integration of the required and available factors and resources. The integration of the factors is crucial to the effective planning of management of a project. The manager of the project must know the scope of the project and the available resources of the firm or individual that could lead to the success of the project. The planning of the project is important in order to execute the project. The beginning point of the planning is the identification of the scope of the project that could be achieved through the development of desired quality and management of resources and as a result the desired outcome or product could be achieved. After the identification of the scope of the project, the project manager needs to identify the work break down structure of the project which is the step by step process and defines the factors and resources in each step of the production. There are several ways to integrate work break down structure. However, a project management triangle is the most useful method of integrating the factors and resources in a project that could lead to the success of the project and an effective project management process (Riess, 2007). The triangle of project management is consists of three important factors including cost management, time management and quality management. The depiction of a project triangle is provided below.

The management of time is important as it provides the establishment of relationship of the tasks and the sequence of the actions along with their defined time period. The activities involved in the project management framework are achieved through the division of time period of those activates so that the required result can be achieved in the project. The cost of the project is important to determine the allocation of resources and it defines the budget of the project that could be used to identify the profit and benefit that is likely to be achieved through the project. The project manager is not supposed to compromise on the quality of the material used in the project otherwise the cost will be increased in the future.

Define when cloud computing might make sense for a start-up company and when it might make sense for a large corporation with an already established IT/IS solution.

Cloud computing can be useful for the small corporations just like the large corporations. However, the integration of cloud computing in an organization with a very small scale would lead to the increased cost of the organization and that would lead to the loss of the resources and finances of the company. The start up businesses can also use the cloud computing but they need to effectively utilize the use of the service otherwise; the cost will be greater than the return on the project. The integration of cloud computing in an ...
