Abstract

In this study we trial to discover that there's a gigantic problem of poverty and hunger in Namibia and this dissertation will talk about the poverty decrease issues in Namibia. The strategic modes and steps taken by the government to advance the present rank are discussed. The paper will present a new composite signal - the poverty and hunger decreases - to consider countries' production in the direction of accomplishing millennium growth. The issues pertaining to poverty decrease are considered and how government will take plans to halve poverty and hunger by 2015. Building on the statistical structure of the human expansion index in Namibia where study would be finished on governmental and local level, thereby developing insights on a country's snare advancement in the direction of its own aim.

The outline for this study is to identify he poverty reduction scenario and the development projects going on in Namibia.

Background of the research

African countries became independent in the 1950s and 1960s after a long struggle for liberation, and subsequently they came to be administered in their own children. The post-colonial decades were not full of joy and satisfaction for the African societies. The African population faces significant challenges, such as political instability, civil war, poverty, disease, corruption, dictatorship and underdevelopment in terms of basic services such as education, clean water, health and infrastructure. Development efforts of the last six decades are not in the best interest of the African societies. Foreign aid has not helped the growth of Africa. Debt has become a challenge for many African countries. Trade was based mainly on the export of agricultural products and oil, but not of manufactured goods.

There is a requirement of poverty and development analysis on Namibia. He finds that the structural relationship between poverty reduction, income growth and distribution of same. Prior to 1985, rapid growth greatly impoverished. After 1985, despite very low income growth, a rising share of income, which meant the lowest quintile, the average income of the poor rose more rapidly than the non-poor.
