Introduction

Every piece of creation is a result of inspiration and innovation and it comes out of unique creativity of each and every individual who creates it. An individual who creates something wants to have appreciation of his or her creativity so, in order to receive that appreciation he or she makes the public display of its creation. This public display may involve certain susceptibility of risk of theft and stealing of idea and misrepresentation of ideas. In this fast paced era everybody wants to adopt the shortcut to get success and toattain this people indulge in wrong acts of stealing other people's idea. To combat this issue we take the aid of laws. Different laws provide protection to our creation. But laws are ever changing in order to avail the protection of laws properly we must understand laws very well. There can be intricate issues that can even make the implementation of laws a very complex issue. Therefore it is imperative to understand the intricate and sensitive issues. The implication of laws also become complex and can involve a variegated issues when it comes to the intellectual property law. The aim and objective of this paper is to undertake critical evaluation of one of the greatest artists of all time Michael Angelo. The statement that this paper aims to evaluate is as follows:

Michelangelo said of one of his sculptures 'I saw the angel in the marble and I carved until I set him free'. In copyright cases, chipping away and ignoring all the bits which are undoubtedly, not copied may result in the creation of an illusion of copying in what is left.'

Critical Evaluation

The following part of the paper presents the critical evaluation of the given statement. First of all general meaning and description of the statement is discussed. General Description and Meaning of Statement and its Evaluation

This statement can be described in two parts. First art is the quote of Michelangelo and the second part is about the copyright cases. The quote of Michelangelo shows creativity and innovativeness. It shows that before starting work on a sculpture the structure, colour and shape of the marble revealed to him that he is going to carve this marble and it would embrace the reflection and shape of an angel. In this pursuit, he kept on carving the marble until and unless the shape and face of angel came out of the marble. Just after this quote there is a description about the copyright cases.
