Abstract

This study is about analyzing the idea of “Intelligence Testing” in a detailed manner. The central focus of the research is on “Intelligence Testing” and its impacts on society as it helps the teachers to assist their students in overcoming their learning disabilities. This research also emphasizes different aspects of “Intelligence Testing” and briefly describes its significance in measuring the skills as well as it also focuses on the critics' opinion towards “Intelligence Testing” and examining the prospective risks of continuous utilizing it.

Introduction

People all over the world have different capabilities from one another to handle their situations, to realize various thoughts, to adjust efficiently with the surroundings, to gain knowledge from their past experiences, to carry on various forms of analysis and to overcome the hurdles with their ideas. Even though these individual variations are significant, still not completely reliable as individuals' academic performance differs with various occasions, with different fields to be evaluated in different domains, as judged by different criteria. The idea of intelligence simplifies and categorizes this intricate set of phenomenon. Intelligence Testing is a field that utilizes different sections of human nature and behavior to conclude an overview about an individual's personality. Considering these sections of human nature, performance of people is observed and evaluated by means of scores in that test. These test scores are further assembled into arithmetical tables through which the evaluator analyzes the performance of the individuals. This complete process is based on Intelligence Testing.

Discussion

Since intelligence testing is introduced, it has been considered as one of the most successful of all the existing psychological tests. Apart from that, it has been working as a very helpful tool for categorizing the children according to their abilities and skills (Benson, 2003). An IQ test is a test supposedly designed to measure a person's intelligence. Intelligence testing comprises of standardized tests which means that they are specifically designed to evaluate people from different background in a uniform way. Intelligence is the fundamental factor that holds an organism's variation to its surroundings and upbringing. Since Intelligence Testing was introduced, it has been using as an important tool in recognizing the learning abilities and disabilities of children. It helps teachers to diagnose their students' mental retardation and learning disorders.
