Interfaith Dialogue

The periods interfaith or interfaith dialogue mention to cooperative and positive interaction between persons of different devout customs (i.e., "faiths") and religious or humanistic beliefs, at both the individual and institutional level with the aim of drawing from a widespread ground in belief through a engrossment on similarities between beliefs, understanding of values, and firm pledge to the world. It is distinct from syncretism or alternative belief, in that dialogue often engages promoting understanding between different beliefs to increase acceptance of others, rather than to synthesize new beliefs.
