International Political Economy

Introduction

The new ideas about the future of U.S. trade policy have been on the table for many years. Economists are constantly thinking about how to better balance the trade market for the benefit of all. And in a world where more is controlled half the market in less than ten countries, the playing field is in demand and most importantly, fair. Too many countries are being exploited for cheap labor and materials at our expense. So how level the ground, while benefiting all at the same time? Most would say for free and fair trade a combination that why would one argue that free trade is the best policy "creates jobs and raises living standards for American workers."? To begin with, increases efficiency, competition, and the variety available for consumption.

This is mainly due to the absence of tariffs and trade barriers that complicate and delay the market. Free trade also has the effect of consumption and production [1]. With the effect of consumption, countries are given the opportunity to trade at different prices, the same way; the effect of the production shows how commerce is becoming more efficient in the context of international trade.

International Political Economy

International Political Economy (IPE) is the rapidly developing field of social science study that seeks to understand international and global issues through interdisciplinary eclectic array of analytical tools and theoretical perspectives. IPE is a developing field in the process that Joseph Schumpeter called "creative destruction."

If there is a "IPE project aims to break down the barriers that restrict intellectual inquiry in the social sciences so that important issues and problems can be discussed without reference to disciplinary boundaries.

IPE is the study of a problem, or a set of related problems. The problem traditional IPE includes analysis of the political economy of international trade, international finance, North-South relations, multinational corporations, and hegemony. This problem has grown in recent years many scholars have sought to establish a new IPE that focus less on international politics and problems of the nation-state and less focused on policy issues. These researchers are trying to create a new discipline of IPE that transcend the limits of perception of International Politics and International Economics in the fields of study and research.
