As the 21 st century continues, it is increasingly difficult to imagine how businesses can take place without the Internet. The Internet has transformed many areas of the business field, and communication in particular. Dramatically reducing the time required to transmit information over long distances and short, the Internet has become indispensable to business.

1. The Internet has become an essential tool for marketing and advertising companies. Some companies do not exist in brick and cement, and therefore the Internet, in the form of a website and online advertising, is a showcase for all present to the buying public. Other companies use Internet advertising to complement advertising in newspapers and radio and in store promotions, especially targeting young people as potential customers.

2. Most intelligent business owners both large and small companies recognize the importance of establishing an Internet presence through a website. Along with their own websites, some companies have tried to engage in social networking phenomenon (called Web 2. 0), which began to escalate in the 20 th century. By profiling platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn, companies try to implement "soft" marketing to improve their image with potential clients or customers and the general public.

3. Although telephone communication is far from dead, many businesses are conducted through email. Businesses use email to communicate with the public and to transmit messages within the company. In addition, real-time communications such as instant messaging (IM), Internet telephony (through services like Skype) and even virtual meetings and conferences have become increasingly important in the functioning of everyday business in the 21 st century.

4. If searches are taking place on the Web or through specialized databases such as LexisNexis or Hoover, Internet search has become an absolutely essential research tool for businesses in almost every industry. Libraries have been transformed by the Internet explosion, with much of their collections that are converted into electronic records that are available to customers via the Internet. In addition to accessing library records online, breaking news and business access to real time stock information via the Internet. The companies also conduct online research.

5. Many companies employ workers, contractors and consultants and telecommuters. Teleworkers can be found locally or far from the base of an operating company. Companies with international presence using the Internet to facilitate communications between its offices in various places.

Is the Internet really important for your business? Most business owners do not believe, or so it seems indifferent response to the discussions about their business and the Internet.
