An Introduction of ISO 9000

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) it is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from more than 140 countries, one from each country.

The Mission Of International Organization For Standardization

The organization was established in the year 1947. This organization is not a governmental organization .It was made by the combined efforts of all the countries, which are included in the formation of ISO. “The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.” The members of ISO are divided into three categories:

Correspondent member

Subscriber membership

Member Body Of ISO

A member body of ISO is a single body, which is responsible to promote the standards set out by this organization. In fact the member country also have the responsibility to provide country's share of financial support for the central operations of ISO. The member body also has the authority to present its opinions and advices on the working of ISO and the improvement of ISO.

A Correspondent Member

It is usually an organization, which is working to promote ISO in every country. However, the correspondent members do not take active part in the process of making up the policies for ISO. 

Subscriber Membership
