Jean-Paul Sartre is a French-language writer, philosopher engaged in the century, also a playwright, novelist, short story writer and essayist. Born on 21 June 1905 at Paris, he died on 15 April 1980 in the same city. A prolific writer, he is as much known for his work, including his philosophy called the existentialism, as for his politics to the left.
