Leadership practices

In today's fast-paced, globally-connected business world in which we live, an organization's successes and failures can be shared with everyone in very less time. Therefore, the organizations that are doing any immoral acts can get to face negative consequences. It is, therefore, the duty of the leader to ensure that nothing unethical takes place. Moreover, the leader also has to ensure that the best leadership practices are being incorporated in the “Duck Unlimited” project. Some of the suggested leadership practices are mentioned below.

Encourage risk taking

It is essential for the leaders to take the first step in extending trust to those they lead. They can send their message through their words and actions and should encourage and reward appropriate and thoughtful risk taking. They should also encourage people to contribute, and they can do this by making people feel trusted and secure. The genesis of creativity and innovation is the willingness to take risks. The leadership practice that the “Duck Unlimited” should adopt is to create awareness. Transparency

Another leadership practice that “Duck Unlimited” should adopt is transparency in processes and decision making. Leaders have the ability to build a culture of trust and openness by ensuring they engage in transparent business practices. People should be involved in order to save the waterfowl population. Therefore, they should be encouraged to make efforts and should give feedbacks. However, organizational policies and procedures should be kept in mind and should be applied in a fair and transparent manner. On an individual basis, it is imperative leaders to remember that our people want to know values, beliefs, and what motivates the leader's decisions and actions (Northouse, 2009).

Openly Sharing Information

When information is absent, people make their own perceptions. However, this results in formation of gossip and rumors. People also start questioning the leadership decisions, and they tend to lose focus on the mission of the organization. Therefore, it is essential for the leaders to share information also to build trust and credibility with their followers. When people are entrusted with all the necessary information to make intelligent business decisions, they are compelled to act ...
