Abstract

The aim of the research is to understand the reason behind the lack of Representation of African American in leadership position in Insurance Industry by examining the contributing factors. The research is conducted on a Doctorate level requiring utmost care in the evaluation of literature and other researches to develop a better understanding of the topic under study. It is shocking to see that even thought African Americans are expected to spent approximately $1 million in the Insurance industry in the US, but occupy only 2% of the top position in the industry. Minority population groups, especially African-Americans and Hispanics, are becoming increasingly important to the insurance industry both in terms of product marketing and employment. Articles have appeared in the trade literature describing the new approaches being used to address these expanding markets. The research will try to understand and identify the factors which are responsible for this disparity.
