Latchy Kids

Like many other things in life, lifting a latchkey kid can be beneficial or hurtful depending on how it is done. There is no damage in raising a latchkey progeny, but only if the parents put in extra effort to do it right. Because lifting a latchkey progeny does not mean just giving a key to the progeny and reaching dwelling after him/her. It can even be more tough than easily being home all the time. And it can furthermore advantage your progeny more. It all boils down to what being a latchkey kid actually means and what it doesn't have to mean.

For me, being a latchkey kid intended that I was 9 and coming dwelling after school alone. Iwas solely at dwelling (or with my 2 years older male sibling) until my parents came dwelling, several hours later. Iknew that my parents were working so that we all have everything. Iknew where they work, how to get there, and that they would not be furious with me if I went to find them at work. Iknew their telephone figures at work and how to call them. Iknew that they had to work, but they will come home as very quick as they can. Iknew the time when they will come dwelling every day and that they would let me understand if they were late. Iknew that when they would be dwelling they might be tired, but they would still be joyous to glimpse me and my brother and they would still find the energy to ask us about school and hear to what we are saying and converse about how they spent the day themselves.
