Introduction

Copyright and intellectual property issues have been a major area of concern for businesses or entrepreneurs who take initiatives by the invention of new techniques, products, or services; however, they do not have any control over others due to which they have to suffer enormous losses (Schmidt 2004: 679). The same case is applicable for Marina and Leona who invested a huge amount for the invention of their unique ideas, but eventually had to suffer losses due to similar products. However, some of their rights and possible remedies in the context of copyright and intellectual property law are discussed below (Patel 1996: 36):

Legal Rights and Remedies for Marina and Leona

Copyright is an infringement of copyright to do, without the consent of the copyright owners, Marina and Leona, an act that under this Act only both the owners Marina and Leona have the right to do.

In addition to economic rights that belong to Marina and Leona for their work as they are the owners of copyright, the Act gives moral rights to them, namely the following rights: the right of ownership that is to say the right to be recognized as the owner or inventor of the work and the right of integrity of the work, that is to say the right to prevent the work is distorted, mutilated or otherwise modified and the right to prevent the use of the work related to a product, because, a service or institution, if such amendment or use is prejudicial to honor or reputation of the owners.
