Introduction

The main purpose of this research proposal will be to conduct research on law enforcement police misconduct and corruption.

Background of the Study

The rate of the police officers involved in corruption is increasing day by day. There are many police officers involved in corruption and abuse (Armao, 34). Police corruption is the abuse conducted by police for their personal gain (Benson, 139). There is a great need of eliminating this abuse of police corruption, and adopt the possible strategies to decrease the rate of police corruption (Dombrink, 201).

Purpose of the Study

The main purpose of this study will be to make an analysis on the law enforcement police corruption. This paper will be helpful in understanding the different causes of police corruption, and the necessary strategies to deal with this corruption. Thus, it will be important for the crime and law students.

Literature Review

Police corruption is the abusive act conducted by police authority for their personal gain. There can be different forms of corruption (Crotty, 23). The law enforcement police may be involved in corruption to gain the profit or any other kind of material benefit gained illegally (Condon, 55). The most common forms of corruption conducted by police are extortion, bribery, drugs selling, and fencing stolen goods (Bratton, 35). Police corruption is the criminal and civil violation committed by law enforcement police (Bracey, 175).

Methodology

This research will be focused on the collection of secondary data. The extraction of data will be done from a number of sources like articles, journals, internet publications and books (Barker, 34). Secondary research will aim at gathering information through different mediums like broadcast media, literature, publications and other kinds of sources that are categorized as non-human. This genre of research will not involve and kind of human subjects.
