Introduction

Schools play a vital role in the education system, and determine results in social, economic and educational policies. The pressure on governments and schools is to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and accountability of the system. It depicts that more and more schools are focusing on the students' ability to apply knowledge and skills in key disciplines, and to analyze reason and communicate effectively when they lead to ask, solve and interpret problems in different situations.

Efficient leadership is the capability to productively incorporate and exploit accessible resources present in the internal as well as the external environment in order to achieve the organizational objectives or shared goals. School leadership refers to the act of directing and guiding pupils, teachers and parents in order to achieve common educational goals. The United States also relates this term with the concept of educational leadership. There is a very high chance of correlation between the actions of the principal and achievement of the students in the school.

Scope of the Paper

Leadership is the foundation of every institution these days and it directly refers to the subject of management. Learning and leadership are the two core factors responsible for the sustenance of an organization and contribute in gaining competitive advantage.

The paper aims to analyze the leadership of the school and present different characteristics of the school leaders. In addition to this, the paper will also emphasize of change management and propose a change to improve the effectiveness of school.

Discussion

The most common trait amongst the leaders of my school refers to the distributive theory of leadership. In distributive leadership, role of leadership is shared and distributed among those with the skill and experience to ensure that the functions are implemented for the benefit of the organization. It is demonstrated that the team can demonstrate improvement or any change when new scores will be better than previous ones. With proper assessments by teachers there can be positive change seen in the scores of math. It is noticed that math and science are considered to be the most challenging courses among all (James, 2010). Conflicts is the core of leadership and leaders meet conflicting situations very often; in such situation, all the leaders conduct private meeting and sometimes one on one meeting to resolve the issues. With respect to team dynamics; the team dynamics are very good together and they keep each other on the correct path.

Principal

I would start my discussion with the person who is responsible to head the school; she is the principal of our school (No.1 Leader). Leader No. 1 of my school has ideal behavior; she follows the distributive approach of leadership.
