Introduction

Question that everybody wonder regarding to the leadership, out of which the most frequent question that arises is that what are the qualities need for the good leaders? What makes the leaders successful? While thinking of the good and successful leaders of all time, think what made them stand out from the crowd? We refer leaders with adjectives like “charismatic”, “heroic”, and “strategic”, but what truly makes for a successful and strong leader? (Bass, Bernard & Steidlmeier. (1998).

Successful leaders have the quality to influence others. They exercise their innate qualities to inspire a team, a workforce in an organization, or a nation to strive to achieve goals. Leader have the quality to see beyond their personal interest, and beyond the task they have in hand, instead they strive for achieving long term goals by utilizing their abilities in combination with the strengths to others. Effective leaders are capable of managing relations with others and extract positive outcomes.

Business leaders and leaders of world are alike, who can achieve victory from disasters. Leaders never give up upon their failure, rather they learn from them and pose persistence and determination of purpose, which keeps them objective and focused towards attainment of their goals despite the immanent setbacks or adverse conditions. Leaders are lithe in the execution of their plans and strategies, where they made amendments taking in to consideration the environment and requirement of time. Leaders bend but never break. They motive and inspire people around them to perform their best for attaining the goals and mission of organization.

Leadership VS Management

Peter Ducker said that management is doing things the right way, whereas, leadership is doing things that are right. However, management and leadership are used as synonymously, but they are different. Leader can be managers, but all managers are not leaders. Mangers keeps keen eyes on the bottom line, whereas, leaders' looks after frequently towards the broader horizon, finding growth opportunities for development and growth. Managers are contented with the status quo; however, leaders are looking for challenges leaders are strong and often make their own place in organization, and focus on reinventing jobs. Managers are responsible for the execution of task ir-respect to the future goals. (Feiner, 2000)
